Sunnats
INTRODUCTION The sunnat of Rasulullah ( ~_;~~~1~ ) is the second fundamental source of Islam. It embodies the entire pattern of the life on Nabi ( ~_,~~ 1 ~ ) and includes every detail containing his actions, his conduct and his attitudes whether explicit or implicit. Every aspect of life and conduct has been reported to us in the vast collections of Ahadith. In addition to the Quraan every Muslim believes in the Sunnat of Rasulullah ( ;j.:.,j~~1j...;) as a model of guidance and wisdom. The Quraan establishes that the Sunnat of Rasulullah ( ~j~dJllj...; ) is inspired and guided by Allah ( ~►~ ) : i, I • ! ~ 7/ fi I ,.-,9 ~ I Jo <-5 ~l I ...-- &h" C t,:; .... (53:3-4) Several other verses of the Quraan also establish a duty upon the believers to obey the Messenger of Allah ( ~►~ ) and to respect his authority: (i)
